Strawberry Gelato

Strawberry Gelato

You’ll be the star of the show this Valentine’s if you make this really simple yet impressive strawberry gelato! If you are super busy and work full time then this recipe is great for you.

Strawberry Gelato

A lot of people go out for food on Valentine’s Day, Dean and I have nearly been together 5 years now and we have never been out for a meal on that day!

Being real foodies we like to make a night of it and cook, Dean normally does the starter, then we share the main course and I do the pudding.  This year we haven’t actually got any plans unless he surprises me! We have been very busy the last few weeks and it’s kind of slipped our minds but I’m sure we will cook something really yummy and have a lovely evening.

At least we have a big tub of Strawberry gelato in the freezer if all else fails 😂.

Strawberry Gelato

After the way our Christmas gelato was received I thought this would go down a storm for Valentine’s. It’s great for getting romantic – put a load of scoops in one bowl with two spoons 😉. If you don’t get to eat it all on Valentine’s the good news is that the gelato will last a long time in the freezer.

Strawberry Gelato

This will really dazzle your loved one when you say it’s homemade. It’s that simple you can really big it up how much time and effort you put in, they will really be impressed.

Do you go out on Valentine’s or stay home and cook? Let me know in the comments!

  2. Condensed milk in gelato? I’ve never heard of that but what an interesting way to sweeten the ice cream! You should try making Strawberry sortbet if you haven’t already. We made it recently on the blog and it is fantastic!

    1. I always use condensed milk, it works so well and gives it a lovely light but creamy flavour. I will be sure to take a look at your strawberry sorbet, I love a sorbet after dinner it’s so refreshing!
